The rhododendron season in the high mountains of Nantou County is approaching. In April and May, the Hehuanshan area will see the peak bloom of species such as the Yushan rhododendron, the Hongmao rhododendron, and the Sen's rhododendron. In order to accommodate the large crowds of flower viewers, the Taichung District Supervisory Office Nantou Supervisory Station and Nantou Bus Company have planned relevant shuttle services, encouraging people to take public transportation to avoid traffic congestion.

According to the Nantou Supervisory Station on the 2nd, Nantou Bus will add extra shuttle services during weekends from April 12 to June 15. These shuttles will depart from the National Guesthouse and pass through Meifeng, Cuifeng, Songxuelou, and Xiaofengkou. Tourists can make reservations or use their TPASS transportation monthly pass to take the shuttle and easily head up the mountain for flower viewing.

Station Chief Huang Yong-Song mentioned that every spring, when the high-altitude rhododendrons bloom at Hehuanshan, it attracts a large number of tourists. To reduce traffic congestion and environmental impact, while enhancing the travel experience, a special transportation plan has been devised this year. In addition to the regular six trips of route 【6658(A)】, which connects Qingjing Farm to Hehuanshan, 12 extra trips will be added based on reservations, totaling 18 shuttle trips. Tourists who are interested in visiting the flowers are encouraged to make reservations on the Nantou Holidays website. Reservations will be accepted seven days before the departure date, with a deadline at noon on Friday each week. Those with reservations will have priority boarding, and seats are limited, so it's essential to book early and show up on time to avoid missing out.

Travelers with a TPASS monthly pass can take other public buses (National Highway routes) to the Puli Transfer Station and then switch to the Nantou Bus route 【6658】Puli-Cuifeng, 【6659】Puli-Songgang, or 【6664】Puli-Qingjing Farm at the National Guesthouse stop. They can then transfer to the route 【6658(A)】 Qingjing Farm-Hehuanshan to reach their destination. Not only will they enjoy convenient transportation, but they will also accumulate ride frequencies to receive TPASS 2.0 public transportation loyalty benefits.

The Nantou Supervisory Station reminds tourists that Hehuanshan is a high-altitude area with unpredictable weather, so it is recommended to bring warm clothing and follow environmental protection regulations to help preserve the natural ecology.
