Nantou has a vast territory, suburbs, and remote townships have inconvenient transportation, and the county government has implemented the Happiness Bus 2.0, which has been piloted in the three townships of Mingjian, Zhushan and Lugu. The county government said that it will strengthen the promotion with the public office, and the county will be able to open the road in the first half of the year at the earliest.

In order to allow more units to invest and make rural transportation more flexible and diversified, Nantou County has introduced Happiness Bus 2.0 "Puff Co-ride" this year, which can be operated by passenger transport, taxi operators or associations.

Since September this year, the Happiness Bus 2.0 has been in Zhushan, Mingjian, and Lugu 3 townships for trial operation, and the Guojiao Township has also been entrusted by the local office to the Gangyuan Community Development Association in November to start handling it to meet the transportation needs of residents for medical treatment, commuting, daily shopping, etc., and the fare is charged according to the bus, with a full ticket of 25 yuan and a half ticket of 13 yuan.

Zhang Wanci, a county councilor, said that although the county government has advanced the introduction of the Happy Bus 2.0 service and improved the public transportation in rural areas, it is currently only handled in the four townships of Zhushan, Mingjian, Lugu and Guojiao, and the implementation speed is slow, and the overall traffic dilemma is still not solved.

The county government planning department said that it is actively cooperating with cross-unit units such as the Public Works Office and the Traffic Management Office to take stock of the adjustment of manpower to speed up the processing, and strengthen cooperation with the public office to promote the Happy Bus 2.0 to the county as soon as possible, and it is estimated that by the end of 2025, it will be expanded from the original 4 townships to 10 townships and cities, and Xinyi and Renai 2 original townships will be opened in the first half of 2026 at the earliest.
